Hanneke first met Ashley while studying as a nursing student in Zambia. She made return trips to the country she fell in love with over the next 4-5 years and grew in a deep relationship with Ashley. Jordan met Ashley on a solo trip to Zambia while bungee jumping Victoria Falls. Eventually, Jordan and Hanneke returned to Zambia as a married couple and began to think about how they could make an impact in the community of Zimba.
